Luke is a creative industry practitioner with vast experience in Indigenous knowledge systems, histories and cultures, multimedia production, corporate governance, community development and commercial enterprise management. His deep understanding of Butchulla country and their cultural ways has allowed him to be a representative spokesperson for his people for over two decades. He passionately advocates for his people and their inherent cultural rights and interests.

Some of his recent achievements:

• Initiating the 2018 governance review of the World Heritage Advisory Committee structure
• The 2018 Aboriginal Land Act (ALA) applications
• 2019 Growing Indigenous Tourism Fund, advocacy and coordination
• in 2023, my mother & I were joined the Kabi Kabi y and coordination - in 2023, my mother & I were joined the Kabi Kabi proceedings, and a prima facie case for native title rights and interest was recognised.
