Bus Charter Brisbane CBD to Hervey Bay/return

Don't want to drive or fly? We offer charter buses leaving the Roma Street Bus Station and returning as follows:

Brisbane CBD to River Heads (arrive approx 1.30pm to catch the 3.35pm ferry then on to Urangan Marina (for those staying on the mainland):

• Wednesday 4th September - departing at 9am

River Heads to Brisbane

• Friday 6th September (catch 5:00pm ferry from Kingfisher Bay) - bus departing at 6pm. ETA Roma Street Station Bne 10.30pm.

Cost: $120 one way ticket | $240 return ticket

Bookings/payment to be made on the registration form.

The pick-up and drop-off location in Brisbane CBD are the Brisbane Coach Terminal at Roma Street Station, Parkland Crescent, adjacent to Platform 10 of the existing Roma Street Station. This is towards the “top” of the station.

Travel to conference each day

If you are staying on the mainland, we offer a Kingfisher Bay bus service that will pick-up from outside the Urangan Marina Information Centre at 6:15am to transport those staying near Urangan Marina to River Heads for the 7:00am ferry on Thursday and Friday. Travel will be at own cost ($15), but we need names/numbers for the bus, so please make sure you indicate that you want bus pick-up on the registration form.

Transport to/from Kingfisher Bay Resort for those staying on the mainland
If you are staying on the mainland, we have a special conference rate per head for both the 6.15am bus (this service has been put on for conference delegates only), and ferry transfers ($15 for the bus each way, $20 return for ferry).
To secure this conference rate, you need to pre-book/pay by filling in the TRANSPORT TO/FROM KINGFISHER BAY form and emailing to reservations@kingfisherbay.com.
Note, if you haven't pre-booked on the 6.15am bus, they don't have the capacity for payment so will not allow you to travel.

Wednesday welcome function - there is a charter ferry leaving Kingfisher Bay Resort to Urangan Marina at 7.00pm. Please make sure you indicate on your registration form that you wish to attend the Wednesday welcome function and need transport back to the mainland.

Thursday Aussie Banquet BBQ - there is a charter ferry leaving Kingfisher Bay Resort for Urangan Marina at 9.30pm.

Friday Farewell Drinks - you still have time to have at least one drink with your colleagues/new friends. The Kingfisher Bay Ferry leaves at 5pm for River Heads (note it goes to River Heads, not Urangan Marina). There is a regular KBR bus that meets the ferry to take you to Urangan - if you need this service, please book it on 1800 372 737 or email reservations@kingfisherbay.com

Please be sure to indicate on your registration form if you are attending the social functions and staying on the Mainland so that we can ensure there is travel options available for you.

Kingfisher Bay ferry timetables

Here are the timings for the ferry to and from Kingfisher Bay. Please ensure you book your mode of transport to the conference according to the ferry schedule. If you are staying on the island, you need to book your ferry on your Kingfisher Bay Resort accommodation booking form, if you haven't done so, please contact reservations@kingfisherbay.com or phone 1800 372 737. The cost is $20 return:

Ferry departing from River Heads to Kingfisher Bay

Four ferries each day (45min journey): 7:00am, 9:00am, 1:00pm and 3:45pm

Ferry departing from Kingfisher Bay to River Heads

Four ferries each day (45min journey): 8:00am, 10:15am, 2:30pm and 5:00pm

Flights timings in and out of Hervey Bay

Majority of flights travel through Brisbane to Hervey Bay and there are also a couple of one-way (direct) flights from either Melbourne or Sydney as listed below:

Flights into Hervey Bay (that are met by Kingfisher Bay Staff if you book return airport transfers) are as follows:

• QA2376 depart BNE 8:40am, arrive HVB 9:30am - 1:00pm or 3:35pm ferries from River Heads to Kingfisher Bay are suitable for this flight. Study Tour bus on Wednesday will meet this flight - those on study tours will be on the 3:35pm ferry to Kingfisher Bay
• QA2378 depart BNE 12:30pm, arrive HVB 1.30pm - 3:35pm ferry for this flight
• Jetstar depart MEL 12:30pm, arrive HVB 2:55pm (Tuesday only)

Flights out of Hervey Bay

• QA2377 depart HVB 9:55am, arrive BNE 10:50am
• QA2379 depart HVB 1:45PM, arrive BNE 2:40pm
• QA2381 depart HVB 4:35pm, arrive BNE 5:30pm (weekdays only)
• Jetstar depart HVB 2:25pm, arrive SYD 4:10pm (weekdays only)
• Jetstar depart HVB 3:35pm, arrive MEL 6:15pm (Saturday only)

Driving to River Heads

You will need to check in at Kingfisher Bay's Mainland Reception Centre, located at 54 Ariadne Street, River Heads. All guests are required to check in here prior to heading for the ferry.
